Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Alekseev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kent just misses with a punch to the body.
Kent misses with a few strikes there.
Alekseev tries to move into range but Kent moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tobias Kent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alekseev forces Kent back against the cage and clinches.
The referee calls for Alekseev to work.
Kent scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Kent has had enough of the clinch but Alekseev keeps him there for the moment.
Alekseev keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kent's efforts to push away.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Alekseev is fighting to break Kent's control of his arms but Kent is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Alekseev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Alekseev pushes down on Kent's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alekseev in particular looking to stall.
Alekseev is pressing down on Kent's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kent is holding on for now.
Kent wants to get back to full guard.

Alekseev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kent sprawls well. Kent wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alekseev gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Kent, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kent rushes Alekseev and presses him up against the cage.

Alekseev manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kent throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alekseev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tobias Kent will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Alekseev takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kent moves into range and connects with a jab.
Alekseev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kent is fending him off so far but Alekseev persists. Nope, Kent circles away and we're back to standing.
Kent fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Alekseev checks it well.

Kent closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A left lands for Kent.
Alekseev blocks a head kick by Kent.
Kent throws a push kick but Alekseev slaps the foot to one side.
Alekseev takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kent is looking to land body kicks.

Kent fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alekseev to the ground. Kent is now in Alekseev's guard.
Kent has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alekseev is proving hard to escape from.

Alekseev is looking for a triangle but Kent pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alekseev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Alekseev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kent has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alekseev has managed to get both his arms back between Kent's legs - danger averted.

Alekseev has control of Kent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kent regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Alekseev manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kent to take his back!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kent, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
