Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Locke is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Star Wars - Imperial March. Ivan Ko has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan Ko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Locke! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ko misses with the combination.
Locke bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ko's head backwards. Locke connects with a body shot that sends Ko's belly button to the back. Locke blocks a jab. Ko with a jab. Locke looks to throw the jab but Ko is out of range. Ko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ko throws a looping overhand right but Locke ducks down to avoid it. Locke shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ko pinned against the cage. Ko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ko scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ko wants to clinch up but Locke keeps it at a distance. Locke ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ko throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Locke shoots in for a takedown but Ko shows good takedown defense. Nice shot by Locke. Ko tries to clinch but Locke is having none of it. Ko is looking to clinch. Locke walks into a straight right hand from Ko.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Locke closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Locke defending well as Ko loads up on a big left hand. Locke gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Locke takes one to the chin there. Ko cracks Locke with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Ko is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ko misses with an uppercut. Locke saw that one coming. Ko darts in trying to clinch and Locke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ko with a nice cross. Ko lands with a cross. Ko tests Locke's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ko works the jab nicely. Ko waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Locke. Ko scores with a jab. Locke acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Ivan Ko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ko thows a left - swing and a miss!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ko misses with a looping left. Ko closes the distance and pushes Locke back into the cage. Ko goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Locke's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Ko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Locke backwards. A nice left hand lands by Ko.
Ko is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A short right from Ko on the inside. Locke wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ko struggles to land a body shot inside as Locke controls his hands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Locke is trying to break free. Ko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Ko swings wildly with an uppercut but Locke uses good head movement to avoid it. Ko softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Ko dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ko looks to score with a jab to the body but Locke is just out of range. Ko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. No joy there for Ko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ko is looking to clinch but Locke is avoiding it.
Ivan Ko is winning the standup battle so far. Locke takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ko throws a combination that misses and Locke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ko works the jab nicely. Ko throws a right and a left that Locke avoids nicely. Ko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Locke looks to land a left hand but Ko moved out of range nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ko drives through and clinches with Locke against the cage.
Ko lands a right hand. Ko effectively controlling the action here. Ko tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Still in the clinch, Ko scores with a nice short uppercut. Ko lands a right hand. Ko controlling the action here for a moment.
Locke takes a shot to the head. Locke tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ko just stands there and leans against the cage. Locke drags the fight down to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Locke looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ko is defending well. Locke quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ko has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Locke celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
