Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Briock Mirarleigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Briock Mirarleigo has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Briock Mirarleigo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pereira! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pereira fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mirarleigo avoids it really well and circles away. Mirarleigo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mirarleigo trying to control the action but Pereira is working from the bottom. Mirarleigo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pereira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Pereira can't do much from the bottom here. Pereira is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Pereira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mirarleigo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The strikes coming from Mirarleigo are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Mirarleigo works to advance to full mount. Pereira defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Pereira wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mirarleigo.
Pereira is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mirarleigo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pereira is looking to escape. Mirarleigo lands a big shot there that rocks Pereira but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mirarleigo has hold of Pereira's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pereira manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mirarleigo tries to control but Pereira wriggling away. Mirarleigo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pereira is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mirarleigo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mirarleigo tries to control but Pereira wriggling away. Mirarleigo has control of Pereira's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pereira regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mirarleigo punishing his opponent with strikes. Mirarleigo goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pereira is on top in guard.
Mirarleigo controls Pereira momentarily but Pereira frees himself. Mirarleigo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pereira tries to free his leg and advance position but Mirarleigo is retaining full guard. Pereira trying to control but Mirarleigo is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mirarleigo is looking to sinch up a triangle. Pereira throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Mirarleigo's body to avoid the submission. Mirarleigo has instead reached around Pereira's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Mirarleigo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Briock Mirarleigo!
