The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa throws a right hand that Redfield ducks under and follows up with a left that Redfield also avoids with ease.
Redfield closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Redfield landing a few strikes.
Balboa wants to get back to his feet.
Redfield has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Redfield pushes Balboa up against the cage in a clinch.
Redfield turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Redfield manages to end up in side control.
Redfield connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Balboa some visible discomfort.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balboa bucks up and tries to throw Redfield off but instead Redfield has got his back!
Balboa is trying to get back to his feet but Redfield has full control of the position and if anything, Balboa has just worked his way into a worse spot.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Redfield lands with a hammerfist to the side of Balboa's head.
