Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rankton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pettis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rankton tries to avoid it but Pettis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rankton to the ground. Rankton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rankton fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pettis gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pettis grinds an elbow into Rankton's temple.
Rankton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Pettis decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Pettis gets a double leg takedown into Rankton's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rankton is pulling down on Pettis's head to control his posture.
Pettis trying to control the position from guard on top but Rankton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pettis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Benson Pettis wasn't active enough on the ground.

Rankton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pettis has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rankton. Oh but Pettis has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rankton goes limp - he's gone! Pettis jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
