Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between New Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blood's entrance music is no worries. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, New Blood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Ward! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ward gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Blood looking to slow down the pace here. Blood tries to break free but Ward pushes him back against the cage. Ward jumps guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Blood is looking to stand up but Ward won't let him. Ward is pulling down on Blood's head to control his posture. Blood looking to sit in guard and control but Ward gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Blood looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ward gets to his feet. Blood looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Blood misses with a takedown attempt - Ward sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ward ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blood moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blood closes the distance and clinches. Blood trying to land knees to the body.
Blood ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blood no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Blood is looking to stand up but Ward isn't so interested in that idea. Ward wants to pass the guard but Blood is keeping the position. Blood looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ward puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Ward controlling the action here. Ward decides to stand and escape the position. Horrible takedown by Ward or perhaps it was just good defense by Blood which made him look bad. Blood fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward lands a leg kick that knocks Blood off balance momentarily. Blood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Blood is breathing heavily. Blood shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ward as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for New Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward cracks a nice hook into Blood's ribs. This has been an exciting period of action! Ward shoots in and bounces Blood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Blood looking for a guillotine here but Ward defends easily.
Ward gets to his feet. Blood looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! No luck with that takedown attempt from Ward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward throws a head kick but Blood moves out of range.
Ward shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blood as he jumps to the side. Blood takes a swing at Ward's ribcage but misses. Ward shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ward seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blood tries to roll over but Ward keeps him under control. Ward is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Blood has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ward looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Blood trying to get back to full guard but Ward takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Ward looking to finish Blood with some ground and pound. This is bad for Blood! Ward controlling the position easily from mount. This has been an exciting period of action! Ward scores with a couple of good head shots there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A nice elbow there by Ward. Blood is trying to stand up. Ward controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micky Ward dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ward bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Blood's head backwards. Micky Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Donk. Ward catches Blood right on the button with a cross. Blood avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Blood dives in and grabs Ward's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ward pushes down on Blood's head and hops out. Ward shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ward seems to be looking for submissions.
Ward decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Blood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blood swats him away and circles back towards the center. Good shot there by Blood. Blood closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ward circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blood misses with the combination.
Blood takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Blood leaves Ward with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ward closes the distance and pushes Blood back into the cage. Ward escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Ward misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Blood pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ward back to the cage. Blood follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Ward misses with the combination.
Ward looks to land a combination. Blood sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Blood wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Blood shoots in looking for a takedown but Ward manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Blood's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for New Blood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward tries for a takedown but Blood sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Blood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ward, pushing him back against the cage. Blood wants a takedown but no success here.
Ward gets control of Blood's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ward will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Ward has his foot on Blood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Blood works his way back into a safe position though. Blood wants to control from the top but Ward keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ward can do anything to dispel that myth. Ward punching to the body, from the bottom. Ward has his hands on Blood's head, controlling the position. Ward utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ward is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ward holds on and takes a little breather.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blood wants to stand but Ward is controlling his posture from full guard. Blood has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Blood loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Blood throws an elbow that misses. Ward uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Blood's guard. Nice move by Ward! Micky Ward has got the better of the ground game so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ward working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Blood's head. Ward drops back looking for a leg! Blood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blood manages to kick Ward off! Ward jumps back into Blood's guard. Blood wants to stand but Ward is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micky Ward showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Ward fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Blood stuffs the takedown. Blood slaps away a takedown attempt from Ward, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ward gets tackled into the cage by Blood. Blood maintains the clinch. Blood breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ward fails to land the takedown. New Blood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micky Ward. Ward slips a jab and a cross from Blood.
Ward takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Blood tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ward swats him away and circles back towards the center. No luck with that takedown attempt from Blood. Ward closes the distance and clinches up with Blood, looking for a takedown. Ward pushes Blood against the cage but Blood circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blood clinches with his opponent.

Ward looks to land a right hand but Blood moved out of range. Ward has a takedown stuffed. Ward changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blood tries to avoid it but Ward manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blood to the ground. Blood escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nice uppercut there from Blood. Blood moves in looking to clinch but Ward pushes him off. Blood is looking to clinch but Ward is avoiding it.
Blood has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward tries for a takedown but Blood sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Ward as Blood shoots in. Ward fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Blood looks for a takedown but Ward sprawls well. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ward. Blood gets tackled into the cage by Ward. Ward maintains the clinch. Blood gets through Ward's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward avoiding damage.
Ward has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blood is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Blood lands a body shot in the clinch.
Blood pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. New Blood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Blood throws a series of punches but Ward avoids them all with ease. Blood is looking to clinch but Ward is avoiding it.
Ward moves out of range of the leg kick from Blood. Blood gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ward to score an easy takedown into full guard. Blood looking to control.
Blood is trying to hold Ward in close to prevent damage but Ward has managed to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ward looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Blood with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Well, if Ward is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ward is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blood defends it well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blood is trying to stand back up but Ward is controlling him
