Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Vasklabrski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruslan Amagov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Amagov! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amagov is looking to clinch. Vasklabrski scores with a one two! Amagov had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Ruslan Amagov has been cut. No luck for Vasklabrski with that takedown attempt. Amagov checks a low kick from Vasklabrski. Amagov shoots in looking for a takedown but Vasklabrski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Amagov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Vasklabrski feints and as Amagov raises his hands in defense, Vasklabrski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Amagov striking off his back but it's not causing Vasklabrski any problems. Vasklabrski showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Amagov wants to stand and escape but Vasklabrski is having none of it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vasklabrski in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dimitri Vasklabrski wasn't doing enough on the ground. Amagov gets caught napping as Vasklabrski dives in and scores a takedown. Amagov manages to retain guard. Vasklabrski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Dimitri Vasklabrski has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Amagov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vasklabrski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Amagov as he avoids it easily. Vasklabrski throws a right and a left that both miss. Vasklabrski scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee asks Vasklabrski politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vasklabrski prefers to stall for the moment though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vasklabrski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Amagov can do anything to dispel that myth. Amagov is looking to reverse the position. Vasklabrski is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Amagov's shoulder. That is not cool. Vasklabrski is trying to get an arm triangle but Amagov is defending well. Amagov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vasklabrski has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Vasklabrski steps back and let's Amagov get back to his feet. Vasklabrski closes the distance and pushes Amagov back into the cage. Vasklabrski has clasped his hands together around Amagov's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Amagov seems a little lost for a moment, as Vasklabrski dominates the positioning. Amagov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vasklabrski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Amagov tries to improve position but can't. Amagov is not in a great position here, taking some shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amagov is defended easily by Vasklabrski. Vasklabrski closes the distance and clinches. Vasklabrski keeps control of Amagov as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Vasklabrski gets control of Amagov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vasklabrski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Vasklabrski lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Amagov! Is there anything that Amagov can do to turn this around? Vasklabrski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Vasklabrski working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Amagov wants to stand but Vasklabrski is controlling his posture from full guard. Vasklabrski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Vasklabrski controlling the action here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vasklabrski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Amagov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vasklabrski's waist but Vasklabrski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amagov off to one side. Amagov takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vasklabrski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Amagov for as long as he can get away with.
