Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Tony Montana was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Montana! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes takes one on the button.
It looks like Tim Hughes has been cut. Montana gets caught napping as Hughes dives in and scores a takedown. Montana manages to retain guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Montana is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up. Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Montana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Montana has control of Hughes's left arm, preventing Hughes from doing any damage. Hughes wants to control from the top but Montana keeps moving. Montana is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up. Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montana on the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Tony Montana was stalling too much, according to the referee. Montana looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughes is fending him off so far but Montana persists. Nope, Hughes circles away and we're back to standing. Montana stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Montana wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes leaves Montana with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Montana closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Montana controls the position. Hughes is not content to let Montana control the position. Hughes tries to escape but Montana is in control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montana trying to control the action but Hughes is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tony Montana wasn't active enough on the ground. Montana looks to score with a jab to the body but Hughes is just out of range. Tony Montana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Montana shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hughes wants to stand up but Montana is controlling him. Montana wants to control from the top but Hughes keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony Montana hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Montana fails with a takedown attempt. Tim Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Montana. Hughes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Montana's half guard. Montana gets back to full guard.
Hughes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Montana looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughes is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Montana is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montana tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hughes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Montana dives in and grabs Hughes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hughes pushes down on Montana's head and hops out. Montana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hughes pinned against the cage. Hughes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Montana misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montana shoots for a double leg takedown but Hughes sprawls well. He's pushed Montana's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Tim Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Montana.

Montana gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hughes tries to sprawl but Montana drives through with a takedown into half guard. Hughes is looking to get back to is feet but Montana passes into side control.
Tony Montana has got the better of the ground game so far. Hughes tries to escape but Montana is in control. Montana is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Montana happy to just control the position for now. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hughes prevents Montana from improving position. Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's going to sap some energy. Montana tries to clinch but fails miserably and Hughes counters with a takedown into side control. Hughes landing strikes. Hughes creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Montana manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Hughes trying to mount his opponent but Montana defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hughes in particular looking to stall. Montana controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Hughes not doing much here.

Montana lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hughes at a distance.
Montana changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hughes tries to avoid it but Montana manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hughes to the ground. Hughes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Montana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hughes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Montana somewhat. Tim Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Montana. Montana takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hughes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Montana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hughes looks for a takedown but Montana sprawls well. Hughes shoots in but no luck this time. A momentary lapse in concentration from Hughes enables Montana to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hughes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Montana fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hughes to the ground. Montana is now in Hughes's guard. Hughes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montana wanted to stand there but Hughes had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montana gets to his feet - Hughes follows without any prompting. Montana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hughes as he jumps to the side. Hughes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tim Hughes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Montana is defended easily by Hughes.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Montana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Montana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
