Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mad Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Maci Jagatic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario Maci Jagatic is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mario Maci Jagatic! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dog closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jagatic's guard. Jagatic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dog defends it easily. Dog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jagatic on the ground. Dog scoring with punches to the head and body. Jagatic has his foot on Dog's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dog works his way back into a safe position though. Jagatic looks winded! Jagatic keeping full guard, as Dog tries to pass. Jagatic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dog postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jagatic has momentary wrist control but Dog slips an elbow through the middle. Dog postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Dog has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dog with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Dog stands up over Jagatic, holding his feet. Dog got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jagatic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dog has managed to get both his arms back between Jagatic's legs - danger averted. Dog working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Jagatic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dog is aware though and is defending well. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dog stands up over Jagatic, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Dog is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Dog keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jagatic's head. Dog scoring with some ground and pound.

Jagatic is rocked! Jagatic takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Jagatic is still in real trouble! Can Dog finish him? Dog landing strikes. The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Dog!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mad Dog! Mad Dog was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
