Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bigbird Blast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Erikson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erikson has chosen PrideFC as his entrance music. Tom Erikson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bigbird Blast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Erikson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blast displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Erikson.
Erikson tries for a takedown but Blast circles away easily
and Blast cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Blast, as that shot connected.
Blast scores with a decent looking hook.
Blast lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Blast lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Erikson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Blast keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Blast is pressing down on Erikson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Blast wants to sweep but no luck.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Erikson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Erikson postures up.
Erikson is working Blast over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Erikson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Blast is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Erikson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Erikson working some strikes from top position.
Blast pushes Erikson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Blast catches Erikson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Blast lands a nice looking body shot.
Erikson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bigbird Blast has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Erikson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Erikson is defended easily by Blast.
Blast stuffs the takedown attempt from Erikson. Erikson gets slowly back to his feet.
Blast stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blast wants it to stay on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Erikson or perhaps it was just good defense by Blast which made him look bad.
Blast moves into range and connects with a jab.
Erikson shoots in but no luck this time.
Tom Erikson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Erikson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blast avoids it really well and circles away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Erikson misses with a takedown attempt
and Blast counters with a nice uppercut.
Erikson looks winded!
Blast scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bigbird Blast is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blast lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Tom Erikson has been cut.
Blast slaps away a takedown attempt from Erikson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blast lands a head shot.
Blast fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Erikson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Erikson looks to clinch but Blast throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Erikson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Bigbird Blast!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Bigbird Blast waved his t-shirt featuring Vitality's logo in front of the cameras.
