Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is National Anthem. A fine choice. Stevenson has chosen Use Somebody as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Russell Stevenson! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz fails with the takedown. Excellent takedown into side control there by Stevenson. You can see the frustration on Diaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stevenson tries for a kimura but Diaz is defending well. Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Diaz tries to get to full guard but Stevenson has control of the leg. Diaz actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Stevenson trying to mount his opponent but Diaz defends it. Stevenson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevenson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Diaz trying to control here.
Stevenson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stevenson. Diaz trying to hold on to Stevenson's head to control him but Stevenson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Diaz fails with the takedown and Stevenson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Diaz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stevenson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Diaz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stevenson's back instead. Diaz is breathing heavily. Stevenson rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Stevenson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stevenson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Stevenson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevenson trying to control but Diaz postures up.
Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Stevenson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stevenson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stevenson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Diaz. The fighters are battling for position here. Diaz manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Diaz holds on and takes a little breather. Stevenson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Stevenson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Stevenson defends easily.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Stevenson from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Russell Stevenson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Diaz fails with the takedown and Stevenson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diaz! Stevenson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Diaz manages to avoid the submission attempt. Diaz wants to control but Stevenson postures up. Diaz tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Stevenson is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Stevenson stands up from mount. Strange move. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stevenson counters with a single leg into guard. Diaz didn't expect that. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stevenson is in close to Diaz's body, working some short punches and elbows. Stevenson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Diaz has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Stevenson is looking to defend but Diaz has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Stevenson! Diaz pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Stevenson taps out and this one is all over!
