The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miyato manages to avoid it.

Gordon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Miyato looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gordon scores with the left hand. Miyato knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Shigeo Miyato has been cut.

Miyato closes the distance and clinches up with Gordon, looking for a takedown. Miyato pushes Gordon against the cage but Gordon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ben Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shigeo Miyato.
Gordon throws out a powerful jab.
Miyato uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gordon.
Miyato shoots in for a takedown but Gordon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gordon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nice takedown defense from Gordon. No joy for Miyato on that attempt.
Gordon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Miyato shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gordon pinned against the cage. Gordon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Miyato uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gordon.
Gordon throws a nice looking combination but Miyato bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Miyato closes the distance and clinches up with Gordon, looking for a takedown. Miyato pushes Gordon against the cage but Gordon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Gordon counters with an outside leg kick.

Miyato is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gordon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gordon clobbers Miyato with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Miyato is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gordon is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Miyato.
Gordon fails to land with a series of punches.
Gordon throws a sloppy body shot
and Miyato counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gordon!
Miyato is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gordon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gordon!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gordon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miyato has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gordon has managed to get both his arms back between Miyato's legs - danger averted.
Gordon won't allow Miyato to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miyato keeping moving, preventing Gordon from controlling successfully.
Miyato is trying to push Gordon off with his feet but Gordon grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Miyato's ankles and Miyato is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
