Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joca Fenomeno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Diaz! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fenomeno throws a series of punches but Diaz avoids them all with ease. Fenomeno misses with a takedown and Diaz counters with a nice double leg into guard. Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Diaz showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Diaz passes Fenomeno's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Diaz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Diaz is working for a guillotine from mount but Fenomeno frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Diaz looking to isolate an arm here. Fenomeno doesn't see it coming and as Diaz extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Diaz!
