Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mario Corn! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hughes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Corn.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Corn stuffs the takedown. Corn throws a body punch but Hughes moves out of range. Corn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hughes moves away.

Hughes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Corn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hughes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Corn's waist but Corn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hughes off to one side. Hughes fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mario Corn will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Corn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. No luck for Hughes with that takedown attempt. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. and Hughes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hughes. Hughes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Corn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Raul Hughes. I think Hughes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
