Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luis Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Fountain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz's entrance music is National Anthem. A fine choice. Fountain has chosen All the boys and the girls as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Fountain!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fountain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Diaz gets back to full guard.

Diaz throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Diaz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Diaz keeping full guard, as Fountain tries to pass.
Diaz is looking to stand up but Fountain isn't so interested in that idea.

Fountain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diaz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diaz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diaz!

Fountain wants to control but Diaz postures up.

Diaz decides to stand back up.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fountain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Diaz goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fountain sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fountain is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.
Diaz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Fountain is defending well.
Fountain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Fountain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fountain wants to get back to full guard but Diaz has passed into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fountain is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Diaz wants to finish this one by submission but Fountain is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Diaz.
Fountain tries to reverse the position but Diaz maintains control.

Fountain defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Diaz.

Diaz gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Fountain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fountain as he avoids it easily.

Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fountain is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Fountain circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Luis Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Diaz fails with the takedown.
Diaz shoots in looking for a takedown. Fountain tries to sprawl out of it but Diaz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Fountain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Diaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Fountain has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luis Diaz will probably get the nod.

I would just about give that final round to Ricky Fountain.
