The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Creed there.
Gunn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Creed sprawls well. Creed wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gunn gets slowly back to his feet.
Apollo Creed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunn slips a straight right by Creed.
Creed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gunn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice shot lands for Creed.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Creed's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gunn under the eye.

and Gunn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Creed's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Creed is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Creed has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gunn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Creed.
Creed could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Creed can't do much from the bottom here.
Gunn is working Creed over with some ground and pound from side control.

Creed tries to control but Gunn manages to take his back.
Creed can't escape the position.
Gunn lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Creed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Creed avoids the strikes from Gunn.

Creed is really stuck here.
Gunn scores with punches from the back.
Creed trying to control the position but Gunn manages to sink in the hooks.
Creed has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Gunn.
Gunn is not going to allow Creed to sit and survive in this position.

Creed turns into Gunn and is now in his guard.
Creed wants to stand but Gunn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

We're going to have a standup here because Apollo Creed wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Gunn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Creed misses with a straight left.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Creed fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Creed ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gunn takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Gunn closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Creed misses with a wild body shot.
Gunn on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gunn is breathing heavily.
Gunn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Creed.
Gunn is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Creed works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Gunn is rocked!
Tommy Gunn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gunn is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Creed doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Gunn crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Gunn's bad books for that mishap!
