Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jerry Cotton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Rasthio!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasthio keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cotton tries to bum rush Rasthio with a series of wild strikes but Rasthio uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rasthio darts in and clinches Cotton up against the cage.

Rasthio decides to pull guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Rasthio keeping full guard, as Cotton tries to pass.
Cotton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cotton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cotton trying to control but Rasthio is working from the bottom.
Rasthio is adopting a defensive guard.
Rasthio working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cotton.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rasthio wants to sweep but no luck.
Rasthio wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rasthio forces Cotton back against the cage and clinches.

Rasthio jumps guard and drags Cotton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Cotton drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rasthio dives on top into guard.
Rasthio trying to control but Cotton is working from the bottom.
Rasthio makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Cotton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cotton controls Rasthio momentarily but Rasthio frees himself.

Cotton working for a triangle but Rasthio defends it easily.
Rasthio scoring with some ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cotton is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rasthio stopping the sweep attempt from Cotton.

Cotton has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rasthio doesn't defend quickly enough and Cotton has managed to lock this one up! Can Rasthio escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cotton on a fantastic submission victory.
