Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Dallas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Montilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montilo has chosen No Easy Way Out as his entrance music. Larry Dallas looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Montilo! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montilo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Montilo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dallas uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Dallas wants to pass the guard but Montilo is keeping the position. Dallas trying to control but Montilo is working from the bottom. Montilo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Dallas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Montilo wants to control the position but Dallas says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Dallas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montilo cracks Dallas with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Dallas from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Dallas is defending well though. Montilo let's go of the attempt for now. Montilo looking for the RNC. Montilo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dallas defends it nicely. Dallas closes the distance and clinches. Montilo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dallas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dallas is pressed up against the cage. Montilo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dallas down to the mat. Dallas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Larry Dallas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Montilo. Horrible takedown by Montilo or perhaps it was just good defense by Dallas which made him look bad.

Dallas drops down looking for an ankle pick but Montilo pulls his leg out and moves away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Montilo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dallas avoids it really well and circles away. Montilo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dallas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Montilo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Montilo throws a big elbow that misses. Montilo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Montilo passes Dallas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dallas trying to control but Montilo postures up.
Rodrigo Montilo has got the better of the ground game so far. Montilo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Montilo is looking to take a break and control but Dallas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montilo stands up out of the half guard. Montilo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dallas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Montilo shoots for a double leg takedown but Dallas sprawls well. He's pushed Montilo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Sloppy strikes from Montilo. Montilo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dallas as he avoids it easily. Rodrigo Montilo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Montilo fails with the takedown and Dallas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sloppy strikes from Dallas. Those never looked like landing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Montilo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dallas, pushing him back against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montilo goes for a takedown attempt but Dallas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Montilo blocks a head kick by Dallas.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Montilo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rodrigo Montilo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Montilo fails to land the takedown. Dallas fakes the leg kick and cracks Montilo in the body. Montilo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dallas pinned against the cage. Dallas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dallas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Montilo. Montilo fails with a takedown attempt. Larry Dallas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Montilo tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dallas counters with a series of strikes. Montilo will be more careful next time no doubt. Rodrigo Montilo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Montilo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Montilo controlling the action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dallas is trying to maintain the position but Montilo is very close to passing his half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Larry Dallas. I think Montilo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
