Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Dupitsinov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kirk Lazarus! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking body kick lands there for Lazarus. Dupitsinov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lazarus moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sergei Dupitsinov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dupitsinov misses with a right hand and Lazarus counters with a head kick that drops Dupitsinov to the mat! Dupitsinov scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lazarus clinches with his opponent.
Lazarus misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dupitsinov.
Dupitsinov is trying to drag Lazarus to the mat but Lazarus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Lazarus using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dupitsinov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Lazarus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dupitsinov avoids it. Lazarus lands a good knee to the midsection. Dupitsinov won't want to take too many of those. A nice glancing elbow lands by Lazarus.
It looks like Sergei Dupitsinov has been cut. Lazarus with an attempt at a knee that misses.
