PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Psina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel James Crawford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Daniel James Crawford was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel James Crawford!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Psina throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Psina throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Crawford avoids the head kick by Psina.

Crawford looks to land a left hand but Psina moved out of range nicely.

Crawford might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Crawford closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Psina did well to prevent Crawford getting side control.

Psina tries to kick Crawford off in order to stand up. Crawford Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Psina is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Crawford asserts his dominance and retains side control.

You get the feeling that Psina really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Daniel James Crawford showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Let's hope that Crawford has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Crawford has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
