Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Viktor Herzog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Herzog.

Herzog closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Herzog lands in his opponent's guard.

Herzog drops back looking for a leg! Reyes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reyes manages to kick Herzog off! Herzog jumps back into Reyes's guard.
Herzog postures up in Reyes's guard and throws a big left but Reyes blocks it.
Reyes wants to stand and escape but Herzog is having none of it.

Reyes has Herzog pulled in close to control his posture.
Reyes working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Herzog.
Herzog in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Herzog scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Herzog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Herzog advances to half guard.
Reyes trying to hold on to Herzog's head to control him but Herzog postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Herzog lands a nice short elbow.

Reyes wants to sweep but Herzog has passed to side control!
Reyes tries to bench press Herzog off him but Herzog keeps the position.

Herzog throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Reyes is looking for a sweep.
Herzog wants to control but Reyes is keeping him busy.
Herzog creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Reyes defending against the ground and pound.
Herzog grinds an elbow into Reyes's temple.

Herzog looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Reyes wants to control but Herzog postures up.
Herzog working the strikes but Reyes uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Herzog thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reyes's head.
Reyes desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Herzog is just content to waste time from the top position. Reyes takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Herzog looking to sit in guard and control but Reyes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Herzog looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Herzog looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Reyes is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Herzog has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Reyes is looking to defend but Herzog has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Reyes! Herzog pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Reyes taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Viktor Herzog!
Viktor Herzog spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
