Tappura comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ring of fire kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tappura feints and then cracks Cregov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cregov down.
Tappura thows a body shot but no joy.
Tappura keeps the fight on the outside.
A head kick from Tappura lands but Cregov takes it in his stride.
Tappura misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cregov.
Cregov lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cregov tries to clinch but Tappura is having none of it.
Cregov throws a nice outside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cregov throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Cregov just misses with a punch to the body.
Cregov drops Tappura with a beautiful combination! Tappura stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cregov is looking for the KO!
It looks like Taisto Tappura has been cut.
Tappura throws out a loose jab but Cregov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cregov lands a jab to the nose.
Tappura is rocked!
Cregov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tappura.
Cregov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tappura connects with a nice looking jab.
Cregov circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Tappura drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Cregov follows Tappura to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mirian Cregov!
