Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stock Pile! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorik Berger! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pile scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Berger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pile connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Berger scrambles back to his feet. Berger uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pile. Jorik Berger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pile moves out of range as Berger strikes. Berger misses with a jab, cross combination.
Decent striking displayed by Berger there. Berger just misses with a punch to the body.
Pile throws a hook but Berger blocks it. Good work by Pile as he checks the leg kick. Berger misses with the combination.
Berger dives in and scores a takedown into Pile's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Pile is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Pile not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pile thows a huge punch but Berger dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pile is trying to control. Berger wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Pile missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Berger is not content to let Pile control the position. Pile is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Berger is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Pile wants to pass to mount but Berger is defending the position. Pile has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pile thows a huge punch but Berger dodges it nicely.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pile lands a nice short elbow. Berger is looking for a sweep. Pile is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Berger is staying active underneath Pile, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pile prevents Berger from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Berger can do anything to dispel that myth. Pile missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pile throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Berger is looking for a sweep. Pile is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pile trying to mount his opponent but Berger defends it. Pile trying to control from half guard but Berger is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Berger looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pile trying to advance position but Berger counters by regaining guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berger working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pile doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pile manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Pile throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Berger controls Pile momentarily but Pile frees himself. Pile works a leg free and moves into half guard. Berger tries to get to full guard but Pile has control of the leg. Pile is just content to waste time from the top position. Berger takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pile trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pile postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Pile passes Berger's left leg - he's now in half guard. Berger is not content to let Pile control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Berger punching from the bottom.

Berger gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Pile looks to score with a jab to the body but Berger is just out of range. Pile lands a jab to the nose. Berger misses with a takedown attempt and Pile counters with an inside leg kick. Pile showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Berger.
Pile throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Berger keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Berger slips under a jab from Pile. Berger shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pile napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pile manages to work his way to half guard, despite Berger's best efforts. Pile moves into full guard.
Berger looking to sit in guard and control but Pile gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pile pushes down on Berger's leg and manages to get into half guard. Berger actively working from the bottom here. Berger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pile. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Berger tries to roll over but Pile keeps him under control. Pile seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Berger looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pile throwing shots but Berger is blocking nicely. Berger is refusing to be controlled, as Pile sits in half guard. Pile is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Berger! Pile lands a heavy elbow. Pile dominating with strikes here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pile looking to control but Berger is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pile misses with a head shot. Pile working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Berger is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stock Pile overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pile lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Pile with shots to the head and body - Berger looks very uncomfortable down there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pile cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Stock Pile dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Berger shoots in looking for a takedown. Pile tries to sprawl out of it but Berger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pile manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Berger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Donk. Berger catches Pile right on the button with a cross. Pile misses with a takedown attempt - Berger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pile with a body punch. A glancing blow. Pile tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Berger tries for a takedown but Pile sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Berger changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Pile looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Berger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pile.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pile passes to full mount! Pile fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Berger is in trouble now - Pile has advanced to mount! Pile looking to control but Berger is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Berger tries to hold on but Pile pushes him away. Pile scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Berger is desperately trying to improve his position but Pile has a good base and remains in mount. Pile connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Stock Pile is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Berger is not content to let Pile control the position. Pile trying to control from Berger's half guard. Berger has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pile works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pile is keen to just control but Berger is a slippery customer. Pile works his foot free and advances to mount. Berger keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
BOOM! Pile connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Berger is trying to escape the mount.
Pile trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Stock Pile showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pile, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
