Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yellow Label (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Catster James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Label comes to the cage accompanied by Godsmak, I stand alone. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yellow Label!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Catster James!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Label tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
James has a takedown stuffed.
James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

James gets a double leg takedown into Label's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
James throwing strikes from guard but Label blocks nicely.
James trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
James trying to control but Label is working from the bottom.
Label looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
James looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Label keeping full guard, as James tries to pass.
James postures up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Catster James wasn't active enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Label looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice takedown defense from Label. No joy for James on that attempt.
James is trying hard to land a takedown here. Label sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Yellow Label has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Catster James.
A head kick from Label lands but James takes it in his stride.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but Label manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and James counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Label is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Label looking to control.

James is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Label is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Label has escaped and now he's on top!

James might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Label kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Label pushing down on James's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Label is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Label has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
James is trying desperately to improve position.

Label looking for a guillotine from mount but James is having none of it.
James is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Catster James will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Horrible takedown by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Label which made him look bad.
Yellow Label seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Label as James shoots in.
Label lands with a kick to the temple. James shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Label misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Label will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

James is looking for a kimura but Label is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James controlling the action here.
Label is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
James is breathing heavily.

James is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

James wants to work for an arm triangle but Label is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Label pushes James off looking to stand but James dives back in and keeps control.

James is looking for a kimura here.
James working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

James with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Label makes his way to full guard, as James worked for a kimura.
James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
James won't allow Label to sweep him here.
Label keeping full guard, as James tries to pass.
James wants to control from the top but Label keeps moving.
James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

James passes Label's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Label trying to hold on to James's head to control him but James postures up.
Label wants to get back to his feet.
Catster James has got the better of the ground game so far.
Label avoiding damage under a succession of punches from James.
James controlling the action here.
Label tries to kick James off but James keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
James takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

James closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Label to the mat! Label manages to get full guard.
James controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Label wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Label is trying to escape the position but James is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Catster James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


James misses with a takedown attempt - Label sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

James shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Label is trying to defend but James finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Label has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. James is working away from the top position though.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
James is thwarting Label's attempts to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

James trying to pass the guard but Label defending well.
Label wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
Label scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but James manages to mount him!
James can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Label is looking to escape.
Label is controlling an arm, preventing James from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James tries to control but Label wriggling away.

James goes for an armbar but Label turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Label.
Label wants to get up but he can't break James's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Label doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Label manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
James has a closed guard, preventing Label from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Label has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of James is proving hard to escape from.
James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet.

James isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Label stacks James on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Label!

James is trying to get back to half guard.
Yellow Label has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Label wants to stand but James has his arm trapped.

Label tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Label has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Catster James.
I've got James winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Catster James thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
