Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Rexum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Putnam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Putnam has chosen tap out as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ronnie Putnam told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arthur Rexum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronnie Putnam! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Putnam fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rexum to the ground. Putnam is now in Rexum's guard. Rexum keeping full guard, as Putnam tries to pass. Putnam avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Putnam controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Let's hope that Putnam has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rexum keeping moving, preventing Putnam from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Putnam sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rexum's guard. Putnam trying to control from half guard but Rexum is working away. Rexum is trying to maintain the position but Putnam is very close to passing his half guard. Rexum wants to improve his position but Putnam is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Rexum manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Putnam is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ronnie Putnam hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rexum shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Putnam's guard. Rexum trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Putnam is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rexum drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Putnam dives on top into guard. Putnam not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Putnam avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Putnam wants to stand but Rexum is controlling his posture from full guard. Rexum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Putnam is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rexum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Putnam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Putnam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Putnam preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putnam trying to control the position from guard on top but Rexum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Putnam's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ronnie Putnam has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Putnam feints and as Rexum raises his hands in defense, Putnam changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Putnam trying to control but Rexum is working from the bottom. Putnam engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Putnam wants to stand but Rexum has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Ronnie Putnam hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Putnam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rexum sprawls well initially but Putnam persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Putnam prevents Rexum from improving his position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rexum is pressing down on Putnam's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rexum tries to land a sweep but no joy. Putnam trying to control but Rexum is working from the bottom. Putnam distracts Rexum with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Rexum is trying to control the position from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Putnam wants to get up but he can't break Rexum's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rexum is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Putnam is aware though and is defending well. Rexum working for a triangle but Putnam defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ronnie Putnam dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rexum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Putnam to the mat! Putnam manages to get full guard. Rexum wants to pass the guard but Putnam is keeping the position. Rexum throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Putnam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Putnam is trying to control the position but Rexum postures up. Rexum slips nicely into half guard. Putnam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rexum pulls his head out easily. Putnam is defending against the submission attempts here by Rexum.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rexum wants to pass to mount but Putnam is defending the position. Putnam looking for subs from the bottom but Rexum mounts him! Rexum landing strikes from the mount and Putnam is in trouble! Rexum jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Putnam is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Putnam and Rexum has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rexum thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rexum is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Putnam has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rexum is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Putnam knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rexum tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rexum has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rexum is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Putnam is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rexum thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Putnam manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Rexum is looking to improve his position.
Putnam seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Rexum has a hand on Putnam's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Putnam takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Putnam looking to control but Rexum is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Putnam controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rexum keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Rexum defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Putnam. Putnam working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Rexum is desperately trying to improve his position but Putnam has a good base and remains in mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arthur Rexum dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
A big right from Rexum misses. Putnam scores with a jab to the jaw. Rexum throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Rexum tries to sprawl but Putnam drives through with a takedown into half guard. Rexum moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rexum looking to hit a scissor sweep but Putnam is one step ahead there. Rexum is working hard here to advance position. Putnam slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Putnam seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ronnie Putnam was stalling too much, according to the referee. Nice defenses there by Putnam.

Putnam trying to control but Rexum is working from the bottom. Rexum is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rexum is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Arthur Rexum overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Putnam trying to control but Rexum is working from the bottom. Rexum controls Putnam momentarily but Putnam frees himself. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Putnam trying to control the position from guard on top but Rexum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ronnie Putnam wasn't active enough on the ground. Putnam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Putnam showed some decent athleticism there. Putnam seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Putnam trying to mount his opponent but Rexum defends it. Rexum moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Putnam wants to control from the top but Rexum keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Rexum wants to sweep here but Putnam controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ronnie Putnam. Rexum scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Rexum is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rexum wants to advance to full mount but Putnam doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rexum stands and throws Putnam's legs to the side, diving into side control. Putnam is trying to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ronnie Putnam. I think Putnam has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
