The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurgel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ortiz.
Gurgel ducks right into an uppercut from Ortiz.
Gurgel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ortiz throws a hook but Gurgel blocks it.
Ortiz lands a body shot.
Gurgel connects with a leg kick. Ortiz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

SergiO Ortiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ortiz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Gurgel counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ortiz is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gurgel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ortiz has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ortiz and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Ortiz's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Gurgel lands a left and a right that send Ortiz crashing to the mat, dazed. Gurgel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ortiz is rocked!
Ortiz drops his hands momentarily and Gurgel needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Ortiz just on the top of the head. Ortiz drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Ortiz - he's done!
