Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Icaro Asas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santana comes to the cage accompanied by Apaga mais não bate(Jiu-jitsu). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Santana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Icaro Asas! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Asas leaves Santana with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Santana tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Asas was well out of range. Poor timing from Santana. Asas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Santana with a poor takedown and Asas counters with a single leg into guard. Santana didn't expect that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Asas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Santana is rocked! Santana is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Asas scores with a couple of nice shots. Oh Santana is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Asas working over Santana with some ground and pound. Santana looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Asas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santana has hold of Asas's hands but Asas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Santana is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Asas scores with a couple of nice shots. Asas drops an elbow to the side of Santana's head. The fighters are battling for position here. Santana manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Asas is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Asas manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Asas lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Asas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Asas actively working from the bottom here. Asas throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Asas tries to kick Santana off but Santana keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Santana works his way into full mount! Asas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santana jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Asas is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Asas and Santana has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Santana misses with the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santana trying to control the action but Asas is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Asas prevents Santana from moving into mount. Asas wants to control but Santana postures up. Asas throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Asas throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Icaro Asas dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Asas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Asas throws a good cross that connects.

Diego Santana is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Santana fails with a takedown attempt. Santana throws a right and a left that both miss. Asas slaps away a takedown attempt from Santana, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him. Asas moves into the clinch. Santana has Asas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Asas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A bit of stalling here from Asas.

Asas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Santana has time to react. Asas rushes Santana and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Santana can't get the takedown.
Asas has clasped his hands together around Santana's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Asas cracks Santana with a big right hand but Santana just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Asas looks up at the clock and then as Santana takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Asas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Santana might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Asas scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Santana is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Asas can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Icaro Asas! A relieved looking Icaro Asas thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
