Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Steve Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Praying Mantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Praying Mantis! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mantis throws a front kick that sends Ross stumbling back into the cage. Steve Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ross takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mantis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ross blocks a head kick by Mantis.
A clash of legs there as Ross blocks the low kick. Ross blocks the body kick.
Mantis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Sloppy strikes from Ross. Those never looked like landing. Mantis avoids the head kick by Ross.
Mantis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ross takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Ross scores with a nice strike. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ross misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mantis, right into the meat.
Ross moves out of range of the body kick from Mantis.
Mantis looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mantis blocks a head kick by Ross.
Mantis throws a body kick that misses. Crunch! Mantis slams his shin into Ross's torso. Mantis takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Ross scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ross is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross thuds his shin into the meat of Mantis's side. Mantis scores with a leg kick.
Ross fakes the leg kick and cracks Mantis in the body. Mantis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mantis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ross. Ross tests Mantis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ross tries a head kick but it misses.
Ross lands with a kick to the temple. Mantis shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Mantis is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mantis drops his guard momentarily, allowing Ross to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Mantis! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Ross takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Steve Ross! A very excited looking Steve Ross rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
