The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Norton sprawls well. Norton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cox gets slowly back to his feet. Norton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cox sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cox has his takedown stuffed and Norton counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Norton. Cox is trying to break the clinch but Norton is controlling him. Cox fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Homer Cox. That's going to take a lot out of him. Norton shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cox napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cox is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Cox's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
