Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leopold Stotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stotch tries for a takedown but Hughes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hughes stuffs the takedown.

Stotch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Stotch thows a huge punch but Hughes dodges it nicely.
Hughes is trying to control but can't.
Hughes tries to roll over but Stotch keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stotch stops Hughes from getting back to his feet.
Hughes is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stotch scores with a couple of nice shots.
Stotch is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hughes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Stotch trying to control from half guard but Hughes is working away.

Stotch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stotch performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Stotch is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Hughes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Stotch is trying to control the action in half guard but Hughes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Stotch throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Stotch uses his free foot to push down on Hughes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hughes.
Stotch connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Hughes is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stotch postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Hughes badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Stotch around the waist but Stotch pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Stotch is the winner by TKO! Stotch jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leopold Stotch!
