The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stefano tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lynch is able to avoid easily.
Stefano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lynch wants to stand and escape but Stefano is having none of it.

Lynch wants to get up but he can't break Stefano's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lynch is breathing heavily.

Horrible takedown by Lynch or perhaps it was just good defense by Stefano which made him look bad.

Lynch shoots in and drives through. Stefano sprawls well.

Stefano's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Lynch tries for a takedown but Stefano manages to get underhooks.
Stefano wants the takedown. Lynch is fighting it off but Stefano persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lynch's guard against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Stefano looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lynch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
