Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Silva!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva connects with an inside leg kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Silva.


It looks like Justin Carter has been cut.
Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Carter back into the cage.

Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.

Justin Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Silva.

Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Silva's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Carter tries to escape but Silva has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Carter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Silva is persistently looking for the submission but Carter is defending it well.
Silva wants to control but Carter is keeping busy.
Silva might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Carter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva is looking for the choke from the back position but Carter is controlling his hands well.

Silva is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Carter is defending well though. Silva let's go of the attempt for now.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Carter closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Carter getting side control.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.

Carter pulls Silva in close to prevent any damage.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.
Carter wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carter misses with a jab, cross combination.

Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carter tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carter to the ground. Carter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Silva tries to move into range but Carter moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Carter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Justin Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Carter has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silva.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Carter against the cage but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A close second round but Jack Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Carter lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Carter is landing with some decent strikes but Silva is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
