Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Gangsta Nation- Ice Cube. Gracie has chosen Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Terrance Alves is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terrance Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Gracie! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alves keeps working. Alves is looking to reverse the position. Gracie trying to control the action but Alves is working from the bottom. Alves is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gracie is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Gracie prevents Alves from getting the reversal. Gracie lands a nice shot to the head. Alves is trying desperately to improve position. Gracie cracks Alves with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gracie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Alves is rocked! Alves is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action. Oh Alves is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie fails to advance to Alves's back. Alves seems to have got his legs back now. Gracie with a couple of short strikes. Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves tries to improve his position but instead Gracie has taken his back! Gracie trying to control. Gracie working for the choke. You can see the frustration on Alves's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Gracie lands shots from the back. Gracie is trying to stick to Alves's back but Alves is turning into Gracie. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gracie's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alves. Alves is fighting to break Gracie's control of his arms but Gracie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gracie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Alves manages to get himself to full guard.
Alves is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Alves. Gracie is pushing down on Alves's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alves is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through. Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Alves defends it. Alves wants to get back to full guard but Gracie has mounted him! Gracie controlling from mount. Alves is trying desperately to improve position. Alves is breathing heavily. Gracie working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount. Gracie wants to control the pace but Alves is squirming around nicely. Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Alves has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is working the ground and pound. Can Alves escape? Gracie throwing sloppy strikes. Alves looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Alves wants to escape the position.
Alves is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Alves stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. Gracie scores a takedown into full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alves throwing hammer fists to the chest of Gracie. What's that going to do exactly? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Gracie dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Alves sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. Alves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Gracie blocks a head kick by Alves.
A head kick misses from Alves. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gracie is pressing down on Alves's thigh, looking to free his foot. Alves is holding on for now. Alves works his way to full guard. Good work. Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Alves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves looking for a guillotine here but Gracie defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Gracie has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alves is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea. Gracie landing punches. Alves is looking to improve his position but Gracie isn't that keen on the idea. Gracie is working for a guillotine from mount but Alves frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alves blocking the ground and pound. Alves is trying desperately to improve position. Gracie putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Alves is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount. Gracie controlling his opponent. Gracie trying to control but Alves is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully. Gracie tries to control but Alves wriggling away. Alves is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alves slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Alves wants to improve his position but Gracie is controlling well.
Gracie passes to full mount! Alves is trying to reverse the position but instead Gracie has taken his back - oops! Gracie loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Alves hold on?

Gracie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Alves has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Bruce Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Alves throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily. Alves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick misses from Alves. Gracie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Gracie is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Alves is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bruce Gracie!
