Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bayden Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood's entrance music is 1 hitta quitta 3 6 mafia. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Foster's choice of entrance music: Lynyrd Skynrd - Sweet Home Alabama. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bayden Wood!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caleb Foster!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood works over Foster's head and body with a nice combination.
The fighters circling - Wood throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Wood moves into the clinch.
Wood can't break the clinch.
Wood looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Wood pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wood misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wood throws a nice looking combination but Foster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wood throws a right and a left that Foster avoids nicely.
Foster showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wood.
Wood throws a lazy right hand but Foster sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wood stuffs the takedown.
Wood throws a right hand that Foster ducks under and follows up with a left that Foster also avoids with ease.

Wood throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Foster sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wood throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A slow jab from Wood misses its intended target.

Wood gets a takedown into half guard.
Wood throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Wood thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Wood is looking for a kimura but Foster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wood to get the leverage.
Wood wants to pass to mount but Foster is defending the position.

Foster looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Foster actively working from the bottom here.
Foster avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wood.
Wood thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wood tries to pass to full mount but Foster defends it.

Wood is working for a kimura but Foster is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wood looking for a submission but Foster manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Foster working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wood doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wood manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wood throws a strike but Foster rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Foster drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wood dives on top into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bayden Wood dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Wood tries to bum rush Foster with a series of wild strikes but Foster uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wood throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Wood misses with an uppercut

and Foster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foster.

Foster thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wood is trying to control the position but Foster postures up.

Foster drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wood manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Foster has Wood in his guard.

Foster has his foot on Wood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wood works his way back into a safe position though.

Wood postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Wood trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wood lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Wood throws a strike but Foster rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wood has his feet on Foster's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Wood's jab looks to have found its range, popping Foster under the eye.
Foster slips a jab and a cross from Wood.

A slow jab from Wood misses its intended target.
Wood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Foster.

Wood throws a nice looking combination but Foster bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nice straight punches there by Wood. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wood.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wood moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wood lands with a cross.
Wood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wood misses with a double jab

and Foster counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wood's guard now.

Foster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Foster has managed to get both his arms back between Wood's legs - danger averted.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Foster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wood is keeping the position for now.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.
Wood tries to free his leg and advance position but Foster is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Foster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wood has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wood postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Foster escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wood gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Foster keeping full guard, as Wood tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bayden Wood will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wood throws a solid leg kick but Foster takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wood.
Wood listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Wood cracks Foster with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Foster defending well as Wood loads up on a big left hand.

Wood rushes Foster and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Foster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Wood pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Foster works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Foster passes Wood's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Foster prevents Wood from improving his position.

Foster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wood is just riding it out for now. Foster eventually gives up the hold.

Foster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Wood is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Foster lets go of the hold and Wood can pop his arm back in it's socket.
