The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mattus quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hart changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mattus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Mattus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hart decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hart dives in and scores a takedown into Mattus's guard.
Mattus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mattus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hart stacks Mattus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hart!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Channing Hart is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
