Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Schmidt Commers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clayton Manseau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Clayton Manseau!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manseau tries to close the distance and clinch up but Commers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Commers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Manseau as he avoids it easily.

Commers shoots in looking for a takedown. Manseau tries to sprawl out of it but Commers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manseau manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Schmidt Commers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Commers is nestled in close to Manseau, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Commers is taking a breather. Manseau says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manseau is staying active underneath Commers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Commers looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Manseau with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Commers connects with a nice short shot to Manseau's temple.
Commers stops Manseau from getting back to his feet.
Commers is pressing down on Manseau's thigh, looking to free his foot. Manseau is holding on for now.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Commers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Manseau looks a forlorn figure.
You get the feeling that Manseau really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Commers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Commers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Commers lands in his opponent's guard.

Commers drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Manseau dives on top into guard.
Commers pulls Manseau in close to his closed guard and prevents Manseau from doing any damage or advancing position.

Commers is pulling down on Manseau's head. It's preventing any offense from Manseau, at least for the moment.

The fight stays on the outside here - Manseau looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Manseau leaves Commers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Commers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Manseau to the ground. Commers is now in Manseau's guard.

Manseau scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Commers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Manseau swivels and escapes.
Commers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Manseau's waist but Manseau gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Commers off to one side.

Manseau tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Commers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Commers working over Manseau with some ground and pound. Manseau looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee asks Commers politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Commers prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Commers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
