Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cabbage Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Recksun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Face comes into the arena with Monsta's Ball blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Recksun's choice of entrance music: Eye of the Tiger. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cabbage Face! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugh Recksun! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Face has managed to clinch.
Face tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Recksun avoids it. Face gets underhooks to prevent Recksun's takedown attempt.
Face is trying to force a seperation but Recksun has the dominant position. Recksun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Face misses with a head kick.
Recksun fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Face drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Recksun holds on and takes a little breather. Face stops Recksun from standing up. Face has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Face throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Recksun looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Face trying to control the position from guard on top but Recksun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Face throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Recksun works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Face is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Face accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Recksun working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Face. Face with a nice head shot there. Face will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Face working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Face throws a strike but Recksun rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Recksun looking to sit in guard and control but Face gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Face working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Face postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Face postures up.
Face trying to control but Recksun is working from the bottom. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Face loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Face accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Face preventing the sweep. Face pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Recksun is keeping the position for now. Face trying to control but Recksun is working from the bottom. Face is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Recksun is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Face misses with the combination.
Face missing with a left hand there. Recksun was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Recksun fails with the takedown and Face decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Recksun's guard. Cabbage Face has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugh Recksun. Face trying to stand up but can't free himself from Recksun's guard. Face trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Face stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Recksun swivels though and keeps the full guard. Recksun keeping moving, preventing Face from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Face working some strikes from top position. Recksun managing to control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Face drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Recksun dives on top into guard. Recksun throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Face is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Recksun is looking to improve his position.

Cabbage Face dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Face feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Face looking to sit in guard and control but Recksun gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Face is trying to keep Recksun in close.
Recksun throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Recksun is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Recksun pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Face is keeping the position for now. Face looking to control but Recksun passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Recksun throws a strike but Face avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Recksun prevents Face from getting back to his feet. Face working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Recksun. Recksun trying to control the position from guard on top but Face is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cabbage Face overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Recksun is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Recksun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Face trying to keep a closed guard but Recksun is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Recksun trying to control the position from guard on top but Face is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Hugh Recksun hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Face shoots in for a takedown but Recksun shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Face misses with the combination.
Recksun moves out of range as Face strikes. Face throws a head kick but Recksun moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Recksun looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Recksun throws a lazy head kick and Face makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Recksun really felt that one! A nice combination there by Face.
It looks like Hugh Recksun has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Face looks to throw the jab but Recksun is out of range. Recksun fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big left from Face misses. Face connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Recksun throws a combination that misses and Face counters with a left to the body. Face shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Recksun but Recksun pushes him off and we're back to square one. Recksun walks into a left hand. Face shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Recksun napping and manages to drive through into side control! Recksun takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Face misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Face scoring with punches and elbows. Recksun managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Face.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Face is trying to ground and pound but Recksun uses the momentary lack of control by Face to regain half guard. Recksun tries to get to full guard but Face has control of the leg. Face is nestled in close to Recksun, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Recksun is trying to get back to full guard. Face thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Recksun's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Face looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Recksun with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Face is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cabbage Face dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Hugh Recksun's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Recksun gets caught napping as Face dives in and scores a takedown. Recksun manages to retain guard. Face tries to free his leg and advance position but Recksun is retaining full guard. Face is working hard here to advance position. Face with a flurry of punches that miss. Recksun working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Face. Face throwing strikes from guard but Recksun blocks nicely. Face landing some decent shots from guard. Face throws an elbow that misses. Recksun uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Face's guard. Nice move by Recksun!
That's one minute gone in the round. Face is looking to stand up but Recksun isn't so interested in that idea. Face is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Recksun can do to turn this around? Face tries to land a sweep but no joy. Recksun throws a big right hand that misses. Face is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Recksun is controlling him. Recksun wants to get up but he can't break Face's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Recksun prevents Face from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Recksun wants to stand but Face has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Recksun got a little sloppy there for a moment and Face has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Recksun has managed to get both his arms back between Face's legs - danger averted. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Recksun prevents Face from getting back to his feet. Face keeping moving, preventing Recksun from controlling successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Face is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Recksun throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cabbage Face is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Recksun stands and throws Face's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Face's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Face is looking to regain half guard here but Recksun keeps moving and retains side control. Recksun tries for a kimura but Face is defending well. Hugh Recksun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Recksun working the ground and pound but Face is defending the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Face is looking for a sweep. Recksun working the head and body with strikes. Face wants to control but Recksun postures up. Recksun is looking to take a break and control but Face is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Face's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Face tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Recksun wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Recksun creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Face sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Cabbage Face showed his dominance in that final round. Well Face has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Cabbage Face! After the fight, Cabbage Face was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
