Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Hester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Billy Bob!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bob has a takedown stuffed.
Hester fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bob avoids it really well and circles away.
Bob doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hester counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Marcus Hester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Billy Bob.
Hester tries to clinch there but Bob circles away.
Bob has a takedown stuffed.
The fighters circling - Hester throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Hester connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hester moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bob throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bob throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hester.

Bob shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hester as he jumps to the side.
Bob circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hester shoots in and drives through. Bob sprawls well.
Hester moves to clinch but Bob breaks away

and Bob counters with a single leg into guard. Hester didn't expect that.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hester seems keen to control Bob's posture.
Hester on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hester tries to get out of the position.

Bob has gone for a leg lock! Hester slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bob's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hester tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hester takes the fight into the clinch.
Bob drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hester gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bob drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bob tries to score a body lock takedown but Hester shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hester - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hester swings wildly with an uppercut but Bob uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bob tries to score a body lock takedown but Hester shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Bob tries to pull guard but Hester forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hester is trying to maintain a safe position but Bob gets an underhook and turns Hester into the cage.

A nice right hand lands inside from Hester.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bob.

Hester lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Bob backwards.
Hester pushes Bob back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hester pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hester digs a right hand underneath Bob's ribcage. Bob let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Bob is breathing heavily.

It looks like Billy Bob has been cut.
Hester scores with a shoulder strike.
Bob blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hester makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bob goes for a takedown attempt but Hester pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hester tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bob fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hester avoids it really well and circles away.

Hester throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Bob counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hester wants to get back to his feet but Bob is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hester pulls Bob in close to prevent any damage.
Bob throws a big elbow that misses.
Hester not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcus Hester.

The cut man is working on Billy Bob's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bob swats away the attempt to clinch by Hester.
Bob throws a series of punches but Hester avoids them all with ease.
Billy Bob is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hester is looking to clinch but Bob is avoiding it.
Hester leaves Bob with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bob takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hester moves nicely into side control.
Hester wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working.
Hester throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hester throws a strike aimed at the side of Bob's head but Bob avoids it well.

Well Hester has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
