The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaston throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Couture counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gaston!
Gaston is looking to get back to his feet here but Couture is keeping cool and he's managed to take Gaston's back.
Gaston is trying to stand back up.
Couture throwing wild punches that miss their target.

Couture lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

It looks like Nick Gaston has been cut.
Gaston controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Couture looking to break Gaston's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Gaston remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Couture will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Couture has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Gaston wants to get back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gaston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Couture counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gaston misses with a kick to the body.
Gaston lands a lovely overhand right.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gaston.
Gaston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Couture was well out of range. Poor timing from Gaston.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Couture lands an uppercut that drops Gaston! Couture follows him to the canvas looking to finish.

Gaston is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Couture is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gaston knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oh Gaston is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gaston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Couture has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Gaston! Can he survive? No! He's out! Couture gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted.
