And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Sibayan!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saputo has Sibayan up against the cage in a clinch.
Saputo with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Saputo tries to land a knee to the head but Sibayan blocks with his arms.
Saputo with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Mark Sibayan has been cut.
Sibayan avoids the elbow strike from Saputo, against the cage.
Saputo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sibayan avoids it.

Saputo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sibayan keeps the fight on the outside.
Saputo shoots in for a takedown but Sibayan shows good takedown defense.

Sibayan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saputo sprawls well initially but Sibayan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Sibayan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Saputo has managed to free his arm - good work.
Saputo is not content to let Sibayan control the position.

Sibayan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Saputo!
Saputo is looking to improve his position but Sibayan isn't that keen on the idea.
Saputo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saputo tries to get out of the position.
Sibayan forces the positional change into back control.

Sibayan looking to break Saputo's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Saputo remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sibayan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Sibayan is persistently looking for the submission but Saputo is defending it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Saputo staying busy and making it hard for Sibayan to control.

I really don't envy Saputo right now.

Saputo fending off the submission attempt from Sibayan.

Sibayan is cranking Saputo's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Saputo! He's tightened the choke and Saputo is tapping out!
