The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith checks a low kick from Tyson.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tyson closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Tyson pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tyson gets underhooks to prevent Smith's takedown attempt.
Tyson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tyson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Tyson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tyson shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Tyson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tyson to the mat! Tyson manages to get full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Tyson wants to hit a switch here but Smith passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tyson there!

Smith is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Tyson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Tyson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Smith anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Tyson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Smith slips an arm under Tyson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Smith has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Smith is squeezing on Tyson like an anaconda would it's prey. Tyson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Garry Smith!
Garry Smith was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
