Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Rod! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Tenorio! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tenorio fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rod avoids it really well and circles away. Tenorio tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rod swivels and escapes. Tenorio closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rod circles away. Bob Rod has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Tenorio. Horrible takedown by Tenorio or perhaps it was just good defense by Rod which made him look bad. Tenorio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rod's waist but Rod gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tenorio off to one side. Rod defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tenorio. Tenorio fails with a takedown attempt. Tenorio has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rod pushes off an throws an elbow but Tenorio leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. With the fighters up against the cage, Rod throws an elbow but misses. Rod lands an elbow inside. Tenorio wants to break free but Rod has control.

Tenorio tries to circle away but Rod has him pinned against the cage. Tenorio jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rod walks away with a smile on his face. Tenorio gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rod slaps away a takedown attempt from Tenorio, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tenorio has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rod throws an elbow but it misses.
Tenorio is looking to take this one to the mat. Rod lands a nice elbow. Rod pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Tenorio breaks from the clinch.
Tenorio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rod tries to avoid it but Tenorio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rod to the ground. Rod escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Rod looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tenorio ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rod moves away. Tenorio looks for a takedown but Rod sprawls well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tenorio shoots in looking for a takedown. Rod tries to sprawl out of it but Tenorio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rod manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rod pushes Tenorio up against the cage in a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Rod dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rod gets tackled into the cage by Tenorio. Tenorio maintains the clinch. Rod creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Tenorio takes an elbow to the forehead. Rod lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Tenorio blocks the elbow strike.

Tenorio jumps into guard, dragging Rod to the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Rod wants to stand and escape but instead Tenorio has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Tenorio passes Rod's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Tenorio is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rod defends it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rod wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenorio is trying for a kimura here. Rod looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Tenorio wins by kimura!
