PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bilbo Baggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Caudill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caudill comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Breaking Benjamin- Breath kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bilbo Baggins!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Caudill!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caudill is looking to clinch.

Caudill has managed to clinch.
Caudill is pressed up against the cage. Baggins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Caudill down to the mat. Caudill avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Caudill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Baggins throws a big right hand that misses.

Baggins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Caudill manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Baggins has Caudill in his guard.

Baggins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Caudill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Baggins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Caudill's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baggins stops Caudill from standing up.
Baggins trying to control the position from guard on top but Caudill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Caudill is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Baggins won't allow Caudill to get back to his feet.
Baggins works over Caudill with some ground and pound from guard.
Baggins lands a couple of elbows.
Baggins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Baggins slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baggins passes to full mount!
Baggins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Caudill manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.

Caudill is in trouble now - Baggins has advanced to mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Baggins with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Caudill is in all sorts of trouble here.
Baggins misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Caudill tries to hold on but Baggins pushes him away.

Baggins is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Caudill has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Baggins misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Baggins lands a heavy elbow.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Baggins wants to control the pace but Caudill is squirming around nicely.
Baggins lands with some strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Baggins jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Caudill manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Baggins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Caudill is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Caudill is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Baggins goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Caudill has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Baggins but great work by Caudill.
Baggins is trying to get back to half guard.

Caudill decides to stand back up.
Kenny Caudill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Caudill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Baggins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Caudill sprawls well. Caudill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baggins gets slowly back to his feet.

Caudill fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Baggins, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Baggins goes for a takedown in the clinch but Caudill prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bilbo Baggins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Baggins changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Caudill fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bilbo Baggins dominated that round.
That's time! Baggins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Baggins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Caudill wants to clinch.
Caudill lands a head kick. Baggins smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Bilbo Baggins has been cut.
Caudill tries to close the distance and clinch but Baggins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Baggins fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Baggins throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Baggins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Caudill takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Caudill gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Caudill crunches a lovely knee into Baggins's ribcage.
Caudill is pressed up against the cage. Baggins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Caudill down to the mat. Caudill avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bilbo Baggins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Baggins manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Caudill on his heels. He'll look to pass Caudill's guard now, I'm sure.

Caudill goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Caudill tries to clinch there but Baggins circles away.

Baggins bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Baggins tries to move to mount but Caudill blocks the move with his legs.
Caudill is looking for a sweep.
Baggins misses with the ground and pound.
Caudill prevents Baggins from improving position.
Baggins throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Caudill avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Baggins.
Caudill is trying to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Baggins tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Baggins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Caudill keeps working.

Baggins has an Americana. Caudill didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Baggins is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Baggins hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bilbo Baggins!
