Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Says (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Santz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Says tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Santz swivels and escapes.
Says shoots in and drives through. Santz sprawls well.

Nice takedown defense from Santz. No joy for Says on that attempt.

Says shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santz but Santz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Says. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Santz cracks a nice hook into Says's ribs.
Says gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Oooooh!!! Santz has knocked Says down with a huge combo! Santz steps away and waves a wobbly Says back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Santz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Says as he avoids it easily.
Says changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santz tries to avoid it but Says manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santz to the ground. Santz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Santz walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Says checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Santz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Says.
Santz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Santz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Santz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Santz drops Says with a beautiful combination! Says stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Santz is looking for the KO!
Santz cracks Says with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Santz has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Says to stand back up!
Santz is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Says takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Says is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Santz defends it well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Says is looking for a kimura but Santz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Says to get the leverage.
