The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald lands with a straight right. Fighter didn't see that one coming.
McDonald defending well as Fighter loads up on a big left hand.
McDonald scores with a hook to the body. Fighter takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Fighter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fighter lands in his opponent's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McDonald wants to sweep here but Fighter controlling him for the moment.
McDonald is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

McDonald is keen to just control but Fighter is a slippery customer.
McDonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fighter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Fighter is squirming around, avoiding McDonald's attempts to control the action.

Fighter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Fighter showed some decent athleticism there.
Fighter wants to free his trapped foot but McDonald is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fighter is taking a breather. McDonald says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

McDonald trying to hold on to Fighter's head to control him but Fighter postures up.
McDonald is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fighter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fighter's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fighter staying busy and making it hard for McDonald to control.
McDonald is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McDonald keeps control of the position as Fighter tries to break free.
Fighter just trying to survive but McDonald is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Fighter won't enjoy being in this position. McDonald looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Fighter is tapping - it's over boys! McDonald picks up the submission victory!
