The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lucas sees it coming and avoids it easily. Young looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lucas is fending him off so far but Young persists. Nope, Lucas circles away and we're back to standing. Young misses with a few strikes there.
Seth Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Young misses with a wild combination.
Young throws a right and a left that both miss. Lucas moves out of range of the strikes. Lucas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Young.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Young. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Young shoots in for a takedown but Lucas shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Young throws a right and a left that Lucas avoids nicely. Young moves in looking to clinch but Lucas pushes him off. A choreographed right hand from Young misses the target. Young is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Young looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Young tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lucas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Young doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Young manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lucas looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Lucas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lucas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lucas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lucas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Young doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Young manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Young gets to his feet - Lucas follows without any prompting. Young fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lucas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Young misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lucas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lucas lands in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lucas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Young, up you get! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Young. Lucas moves out of range of the body kick. Young throws a nice looking combination but Lucas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Lucas feints and as Young raises his hands in defense, Lucas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Young has momentary wrist control but Lucas slips an elbow through the middle. Lucas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Young, up you get! Young tries for a takedown but Lucas circles away easily and Lucas counters with a takedown into side control. Young might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Lucas swings around for an armbar but Young sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lucas's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Young rushes Lucas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Young stops a takedown attempt from Lucas.
Young tries to pull guard but Lucas holds him up against the cage and eventually Young drops back down to his feet.

Lucas wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving. Young wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lucas looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Lucas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Young dives on top into guard. Young thows a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lucas keeping moving, preventing Young from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Young wanted to stand there but Lucas had control of the position. Lucas has momentary wrist control but Young slips an elbow through the middle. Lucas pushes a forearm under Young's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Young is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
