Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jambo Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrej Kavelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrej Kavelin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jambo Alvez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrej Kavelin! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kavelin.
Kavelin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alvez moves away. Alvez thows a left - swing and a miss! Kavelin lunges at Alvez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Alvez's hand. Kavelin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Alvez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kavelin's waist but Kavelin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvez off to one side. Kavelin scores with a shot to the body.
Kavelin swings for the body but Alvez moves out of range.

Kavelin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Alvez. Alvez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Alvez throws a punch but it's blocked by Kavelin. Kavelin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kavelin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alvez as he jumps to the side. Alvez feints and as Kavelin raises his hands in defense, Alvez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kavelin keeping moving, preventing Alvez from controlling successfully. Alvez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kavelin on the ground. Kavelin is trying to keep Alvez in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kavelin wants to stand and escape but Alvez is having none of it. Alvez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kavelin is trying to keep Alvez in close.
Kavelin has momentary wrist control but Alvez slips an elbow through the middle. Kavelin keeping moving, preventing Alvez from controlling successfully. Alvez with a nice head shot there. This has been an exciting period of action! Kavelin is adopting a defensive guard. Kavelin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alvez is one step ahead there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Andrej Kavelin was stalling too much, according to the referee. Kavelin throws a combination. Alvez tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Alvez shoots in for a takedown but Kavelin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jambo Alvez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kavelin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Alvez lands an overhand right. Sloppy strikes from Alvez. Those never looked like landing. Alvez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kavelin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvez throws a jab when Kavelin was well out of range. Alvez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kavelin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kavelin wants to control but Alvez is keeping busy and won't allow it. Alvez is taking a breather. Kavelin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kavelin is doing well to control the position and prevent Alvez from advancing to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kavelin regains full guard. Nicely done. Alvez forces his way into half guard. Kavelin is controlling Alvez's position as best he can from this difficult position. Alvez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kavelin tries to get to full guard but Alvez has control of the leg. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alvez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alvez swats away the attempt to clinch by Kavelin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrej Kavelin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Kavelin lands with an uppercut that bounces Alvez off the cage and back into range. Good work by Kavelin as he checks the leg kick. Kavelin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Jambo Alvez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Alvez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kavelin pinned against the cage. Kavelin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Andrej Kavelin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alvez has a takedown stuffed. Alvez is rocked! Alvez bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Kavelin comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Alvez falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Alvez was out before he hit the floor!
