Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Raul Anjos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuure has chosen I'm Coming Home as his entrance music. Raul Anjos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kuure's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Anjos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kuure! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Anjos lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kuure has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kuure and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Anjos lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Kuure has been cut. Anjos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Anjos connects with a nice looking jab.
A slow jab from Anjos misses its intended target. Good exchange - Anjos coming out on top. Kuure misses with a low kick as Anjos jumps back. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Anjos, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anjos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kuure's waist but Kuure gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anjos off to one side. Good standup being displayed there by Anjos as he connects with a hook. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Anjos. Kuure thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Anjos if he has to take too many more of those.
Kuure will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kuure uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Anjos. Anjos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kuure manages to avoid it. Raul Anjos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good standup being displayed there by Anjos as he connects with a hook. A good leg kick by Kuure. Kuure throws a sloppy head kick and Anjos moves out of range easily. Anjos is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kuure staying out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anjos throws a looping overhand right but Kuure ducks down to avoid it. Kuure avoids the body shot from Anjos.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kuure. Anjos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kuure moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Anjos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kuure to the ground. Anjos is now in Kuure's guard. Anjos preventing the sweep. Anjos is fighting to break Kuure's control of his arms but Kuure is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Anjos wants to stand but Kuure has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Anjos throws a big right hand that misses. Kuure pulls Anjos in close to prevent any damage. Anjos trying to control but Kuure is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A left lands for Kuure. Anjos throws a jab when Kuure was well out of range. Kuure ducks under a wild hook from Anjos. Kuure showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Anjos.

Anjos shoots in looking for a takedown but Kuure manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Anjos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raul Anjos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anjos walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Anjos misses with a hook. Anjos will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kuure catches Anjos with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Anjos stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kuure. Anjos misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kuure. Anjos shrugs it off though. Kuure ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Anjos thuds his right hand into Kuure's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuure throws a nice outside leg kick. Kuure with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Anjos throws a shot from downtown. Kuure moves away and avoids it. Anjos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Anjos is breathing heavily. Anjos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kuure is looking to reverse the position. Kuure manages to work his way to half guard, despite Anjos's best efforts. Kuure is positioning himself well to prevent Anjos advancing to mount. Kuure is trying to control but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Raul Anjos dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kuure's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Anjos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kuure as he avoids it easily. Anjos misses with a jab to the body
and Kuure counters with an inside leg kick. Raul Anjos is winning the standup battle so far. Kuure scores with a punch to the head. Anjos is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Anjos tries to bum rush Kuure with a series of wild strikes but Kuure uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A left lands for Anjos. Anjos pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Anjos moves in looking to clinch but Kuure pushes him off. Anjos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Anjos throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Raul Anjos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Anjos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kuure avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raul Anjos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Anjos dips to his left and cracks Kuure with an uppercut! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A kick lands to the mid section there for Kuure. Kuure has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Anjos finds it's way round the side to connect with Kuure's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kuure takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kuure lands a jab-cross combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuure walks into a left hand. Kuure misses with a hook. Anjos ducked under it nicely. Anjos takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Kuure counters with a lovely shot to the body. Kuure cracks Anjos with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Anjos shoots in for a takedown but Kuure shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kuure scores with a nice right hand.
Anjos is rocked! Kuure is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Anjos flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Anjos is out cold! Kuure holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
