The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacKay lands a head kick. Hitman smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Xavier Hitman has been cut.

Hitman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows MacKay to score an easy takedown into full guard.
MacKay slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hitman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MacKay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

MacKay decides to stand back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hitman lands a nice hook to MacKay's body. MacKay takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
MacKay misses with a head kick.
MacKay walks into a left hand.
No joy there for MacKay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hitman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hitman throws a hook but MacKay blocks it.
Hitman lands a nice looking body shot.
MacKay fails with the takedown.
Hitman jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Hitman waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract MacKay. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped MacKay to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

MacKay is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hitman trying to stand up but can't free himself from MacKay's guard.
Oh MacKay is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
MacKay seems to have got his legs back now.
Hitman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hitman is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hitman wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of MacKay's closed guard. He's half up but MacKay has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! MacKay pivots and extends the arm, Hitman falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by MacKay! Well done that man!
