The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fox defends it nicely.

Lawson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lawson jumps guard but Fox turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Fox gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

It looks like Natel Lawson has been cut.
Lawson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fox smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Natel Lawson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fox is looking for a kimura here.
Fox thows a huge punch but Lawson dodges it nicely.
Fox is looking to take a break and control but Lawson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawson tries to roll over but Fox keeps him under control.

Fox is looking for a kimura but Lawson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fox to get the leverage.

Fox seems to be working for a kimura but Lawson defends the submission attempt.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fox uses his free foot to push down on Lawson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lawson.

Fox postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Lawson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Lawson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

After winning the bout, Rafael Fox thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
